Offizielle Pressemitteilung für das Produkt Exile von DigiFX:
What is Exile?
DigiFX Interactive is proud to make available for the first time ever the hottest game development tools for Windows 95 and
DirectX...Exile for Windows 95/NT 1.0!
Exile is an easy to use and powerful
graphics API (applications program interface) which allows rapid development of commercial grade video games for Windows 95/NT 4.0. DigiFX offers a complete set of Exile tools for creating awesome 2D or 3D based games running at speeds which you can actually play!
Exile is a set of tools which is a result of the internal development completed by our R&D staff. We have developed
this high performance API as a result of unsuccessfully locating any 3rd party commercial API which was complete and fast enough to develop high grade commercial video game products.
The first release, Exile 1.0 will be
available in March of 1997. There will be a total of 7 products available initially via the Internet and eventually retail channels.
The Products
The products were born out of a need for a high performance software library which was
capable of creating commercial grade video games. There are several products on the market which offer Windows 95/NT video graphics APIâ€s, however NONE of them
available have the features, flexibility and speed of Exile. In addition, we are not saying that other high performance tools do not exist. We are saying that no API exists which has the
features and performance of Exile and is sold COMERCIALLY.
Exile allows applications to be developed much more rapidly by allowing the programmers
to access all DirectX 3.0â€s functions easily and with optimum speed and performance. For example; writing a simple 2D or 3D application under DirectX forces the engineer to
write several thousand lines of initialization code just to start the program! With Exile the engineer simply has to call the CREATE OBJECT function and the API takes care of the rest!
There is simply no other product currently available that offers the power to develop video
games as efficiently and with speed than Exile for Windows 95/NT.
As a video game developer, we actually use Exile within our own company to develop products for our publishers.
Why Exile?
Currently there are a number of companies which have developed video game tools for
DOS and Windows 3.1, and even less for Windows 95/NT. As a result of Microsoft providing somewhat of a solution to the caveats of games for Windows 95 called
"DirectX", developers are now faced with completely re-writing these tools and APIâ€s from scratch to develop games for Windows 95. Developing high performance commercial
grade tools for game development is not only costly but extremely time intensive.
In addition to development companies there is a vast number of programmers and
engineers who would love to have the ability to write game and multimedia based applications which are fast and easily developed. This is evidenced by the sheer huge
number of APIâ€s which can be purchased via mail order or at any retail computer outlet.
The Competition
However, even with all the available tools accessible there approximately five to seven
companies which produce tools for Windows 95/NT based applications.
These companies which offer similar products to Exile do not however come close to the
ease of use and speed which Exile offers the programmer.
Our staff has reviewed ALL such packages and none of them to date offer what Exile offers.
